Campaigns Against the Cruelty to Animals

CATCA has been working since 1989 to stop animal cruelty around the world, creating our own Campaigns or supporting national and international campaigns. CATCA provides educational campaigns, specially among children & teenager students.

We have had all sort of campaigns, that range from local "blood fiestas","farra do boi" and "farrinhas", to international issues such as: bullfights, circuses, animals in laboratories, industrial farms, rodeos, fur industry, seal hunt worldwide, whaling, zoos and aquarios, Taiji/Futo annual dolphin slaughter, elephants and rhino poaching, illegal trade of wild animals, dissection, vivisection, animal transportation, bear bile farms, bear baitings, Faroe islands whale slaughter, bush meat, campaigns for animal welfare, to promote sterilization for pets, for conservation and more.

Currently we are working in several CITES issues: illegal trade of animals, African elephants, sharks, whales and polar bears. Our main campaigns are: to end the seal hunt in Canada, internet trade, illegal trade of primates in Latin America, against bullfighting, to relocate a polar bear from Mexico to a better place and against all the cruelty to all animals in a local, national and international level while creating awareness and educationg the public.
